About Jonathan!

Jonathan Kalinen (he/him) is an actor, singer, performer, and elite gabber from Davis, California. Growing up, Jonathan was always playing Pokémon games, Sonic the Hedgehog, and watching the original Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory. That was the ONLY movie Jonathan watched as a child and started his love for theatricality and music (“Pure Imagination” will never fail to make him tear up).

Jonathan participated in several community theater groups growing up as well as the high school Jazz Choir (where he learned he was a BASS). Jonathan is a graduate of Ball State University, where he earned his BFA in Musical Theatre and served as a board member for Alpha Psi Omega and the University Chair for Broadway Cares Equity Fights AIDS. He is currently a national member of APO. Credits at Ball State include Cinderella’s Prince (Into the Woods), Father (Violet), and Sam/Cowboy Trio (Crazy For You). His most recent roles in regional theatre include Brad Majors (Rocky Horror), Mr. Smythe/US Marley (A Christmas Carol), Albert Lennox (Secret Garden), and Warner (Legally Blonde).
